No, The first 3 rocky movies was not written by stallone and got help with the 4 by the original writter. i guess someone got alot of explaing to do. huh?

Stallone is a lot smarter than you'd think. His characters are dumb but he knows exactly what the public wants from him. That's why he's rich.

I'm not sure about III but I know he wrote I and II.

Rocky is based on an amateur boxer that fought Muhammad Ali. I don't remember his name but I think the person Ali was supposed to fight was injured and this guy trained for the fight on short notice.
Ali of course won but the guy could take a beating. At one point Ali didn't want to continue because the guy was a mess, he kept getting back up. He eventually lost though. That's what Rocky is based on.

I know he wrote them and it makes me respect him much more, because he just seems like a meathead. I know what you mean, though. He gives credit to a lot of people who helped him with ideas while he was researching the idea. I think he also says it's loosely based on a real boxer, um, Rocky Marciano. When you cut the movie up and think about it, it wouldn't be that hard to write. You've got your underdog boxer, your overhyped champion, you've got your love story, you're training, and then you've got some side drama with Pauly. You write one decent scene between all of them, spend 30 minutes boxing and training and boom, awesome freakin movie.

Well, if he dind't write the first one, he sure fooled the Academy, since he was nominated for best Screenplay of 1976.
