"Satin" finish top coat is not a 'high sheen' finish. If you want high gloss, you need to scuff it with some steel wool, and apply a coat with high gloss.

Rule number 1 in finishing wood..... you have to take the time to 'put in the time' for a good finish. You will get better results if you spend that little extra time to do it right, rather than 'fast'

Im a professional woodworking production manager... and Ive used all kinds of finishes.

Deft comes in about 3 different glosses, if I remember correctly. "Satin" being the lowest gloss. When I use Deft... I just use the spray versions. If Im taking the time to actually brush a finish on... then I use a heavier topcoat, like polyurethane (minwax makes a good finish).

You could try a good paste wax, and buffing it...frankly, I'd do it over with the correct finish, myself.

Good Luck

It has been a while since I used Deft, but if you want a good sheen on the finish, you will have better results with spraying it. With shiny finishes, even the smallest imperfections will stand out, imperfections that are hard to avoid when brushing any kind of finish, especially on large cabinet surfaces. If applied correctly, you shouldn't have to do anything to the finish once it has dried.
