iTunes/iPod: Is it possible to have more than one library?

I have a big selection of songs on my computer and iTunes library but I don't want to import EVERY single song onto my iPod. I can, of course synch specific playlists and manually add songs --but it would be really cool if I can keep one "organized" library for my iPod and one main one on my harddrive. Is this even possible? It's probably wishful thinking but I'm trying to figure out the best way to stay organized. Any suggestions?
