Don't worry about 'seeing' the iPod. After installing the software properly, it is not shown in 'My Computer'. That means you have done it correctly.

But if you mean that it is not recognised by the pc, it's a different story. In that case:

Go to Apple website, download and install ITunes first. Connect the Ipod to a usb port after the installation. Move to a different usb port if Window can't recognized it.

The USB Port may not be operational. Try one of your other pieces of hardware that has the same type of USB connector(maybe the mouse or something) and see if it works. If the USB port is working, then go in through the control panel and see if it is registering there. If I remember correctly, you have to also download iTunes for it to recognize the iPod, I think.

A common reason is using the front USB Ports on a generic computer. The front Ports are often flakey and can't handle the power needed like the Rear Ports which are usally part of the Mainboard.

Try that first it you haven't already.

make sure your operating system (windows, mac os 10, ect) is fully up to date, afterwards make sure itunes is installed and plug in ur ipod and everything should work properly. just to warn you must have windows 2000 or newer with service pack 4 if you are using windows.
