If so, does it come programmed and ready to go or do I have to do it myself? Is it hard to do? I already have an account but I'd like to upgrade.

I ordered upgrade phones recently through my corporate rep, using pricing info from the Verizon Wireless website. The phones were shipped within days.

If you have more than one phone to upgrade, make sure you know which number goes with which phone.

The instructions to activate the phone are easy: either go online or dial *228 and they'll guide you through the process. Read through the instructions and have the invoice handy: it has all the account info you need to enter. Once you activate your new phone, you can't use the old phone for incoming/outgoing calls, but you can fire it up to access your old contact list.

BTW, if you have an online account, if your current phone is capable of it and you haven't done it yet, install and run Backup Assistant on your old phone, so that your contact list can be stored online and then easily uploaded into your new phone. The service is free for online account holders (saves you the $10 for taking it to a VZW store).
