I've tried using them in stores and that mouse pad seems really odd to me, would I get used to it? It seems extremely awkward to use, that little pad that you touch to move the curser.

you'll get used to it over time.
if it's really hard then get an USB mouse and just connect it to the laptop.

Yes, it will take a little time to get use to it. I've never like the touchpad screen on the laptop. You can connect a mouse to the laptop if that's what you want. Laptop mouse is very tiny and you can take it everywhere with you.

It's different, yes, but it's not that hard to get used to. It's never as accurate as a mouse, but it gets the job done.

Also, you could end up buying a USB Mouse if it feels too weird for you. I suggest picking one up anyway if you plan to do anything like gaming or programs that need precise clicking like Sibelius, Finale, or an art program.

no,not at all.It is somewat similar to desktop comp. the only main diff is of mouse and sensor.U have to place ur finger on the sensor and make the cursor move instead of moving the mouse. It needs a little practice but is not difficult at all.All other changes are not very big.so no need to worry.

no it is really easy they are so much better. the mice are harder. depending on what you have if it is a touch pad those can be tricky and harder to use. or if it the little circle that is tricky. IBM uses those. they are both easy to use or you can just stick to and original mouse which plugs into a USB port. nobody on laptop uses the old kind anymore
