Of course yes! i hope you mean in Chennai. There is a course run by an organisation called Vidyasagar(Formerly the spastics society of Southern India) , which runs an one and half year special education course for all neurological impairments(physical or mental). It has been recently recongnised by the Rehabilitation Council of India and the certificate holds good if and when applying abroad. There are also other schools such as Alpha to Omega center for learning that cater predominantly to autism and learning disability, or the Madras Dyslexia Association which provides services for children with learning disabilities.
please go to this site for further details on the training course or if you can simply call helpline and get the numbers to the other two organisations too.

i hope this information has been helpful.
May peace be with you.:)

Most schools that can accredit teachers have a special education program. There are some american universities that have programs that deal with specific disabilities. There is a big push in teaching students with Autism.. as that group has grown significantly (or are people being diagnosed differently?) University of North Carolina, Boston U and university of washington have some excellent programs, as does university of wisconsin and southern illinois. But I found that the best program is the one you are interested in, and how much outside work you do. I have learned alot about autism and how to teach students with specific disabilities through experience with individuals, not through university programs

most univerisities offer special education as a major. In that case, it is accredited. Once you are in the program you declare what you want to focus on. Where I went, you chose CI or EI and then from there you could get your LD endorsement as well. I am going to go back and get my autistic endorsement because my school didn't offer it. Dyslexia is a type of learning disability and is covered under the LD certification. We have to take a big test on each subject before we get accredited. This is after all of our classes.

Fairleigh Dickenson University in Teaneck, NJ has a program where you can be certified to teach Orton Gillingham (a method of teaching dyslexic children). It is a graduate program, so you need some kind of teaching certificate.
