You are married to her, so you must aware of the fact that she doesn't like you to swear and is it really necessary? Calling the cops is over-reacting, but I think shes' trying to get here point across and you either don't care or do it to irritate her...I think there is alot more to this than you are saying...could it be that you want a way out.....so now you have it...or maybe she wants a way out and keeps hoping they'll lock you away or you will get tired of the bull and leave...sounds like both of you may be happier if you part ways.

Depends on the laws where you live.
If it's not illegal, let her call, because she will be the one in trouble.
If it is illegal, you'd better clean up your language!
At least one state had a law that made it illegal to swear in front of women and children, but it has since been repealed.
I'd go for an old chestnut to deal with this: calm conversation and compromise.
If you wish, you can tell her you will make a sincere effort not to swear and that she should understand you might slip up once and a while.
To sweeten the deal for you, you might want to include a ban on other harsh language she might be using short of swearing. It's just about as bad.
All swearing communicates is anger and frustration. It doesn't help ppl know the source of what is bothering you. Try expanding your vocabulary to express what is making you mad, not just that you are mad.
Or if you just use profanity as filler words, try cutting them out. It could even help you in your professional life as well as your home life (you'll sound more intelligent and friendly).
By all means, don't be in a competition to make one or both of you wrong. Make the goal for both of you pleasant communication.
It's a sad world when ppl treat strangers better than the ppl they are supposed to love. (maybe that goes for the both of you)
Good luck to you!!!

If you would call the PD, the call would go out as a verbal domestic ... and officers would respond. More than likely the officers will (x2) will speak with both of you and find out what the problem is. In most incidents, the two parties will separate for the day and or evening until each and have time to cool down.

The only time I think this would be warrranted is if she fears a physical confrontation is next. Otherwise, she shoudl just walk away and leave it alone. Someone should leave. Cops have more important things to do than play marriage counselor and babysitter. Tell her she should be ashamed because maybe there was someone's life in danger, but they were too busy delaing with her overboard complaint!

No it is not alright...someone could really need help while they are coming to your house. However, it is not alright for you to disrespect her by swearing. The only reason people swear is because they are not intelligent enough to know the English language to use the correct words. She is probably very happy that you will be moving out. Good riddance to verbal abuse.

If he's just swearing then calling the cops is a little bit overboard, unless she feels physically threatened and afraid that the argument might escalate into something worse.

well if that is all you did and that is all that she says you did, they wont come!
But why tempt fate. If they do come, you will probably go to jail.
If you are going to stay with her, have a good friend keep some bail money handy!
