sperm have little sperm brains that tell them to head up into the female, and where to seek out the egg to fertilize. They have a 'homing' device within each of them. Their main goal is to find that egg and fertilize it.
It's kinda like no matter how you plant a seed, it always grows upwards towards the sun. It's all it knows to do.

Generally during the coitus, the sperm is discharged inside the vagina and the most part of it is sprinkled just near the uterus.
Anyway, sperms don't know where they have to go or where just are going! They simple go ahead swimming in the spermatic liquid. Surely a lot of them will go in different directions dying in 2-3 days - here's the reason of so many sperms cells ejected all together! Then, if some will be travelling out the vagina their death will arrive in few hours even! In fact those cells are heavily
conceived to survive in an environment with precise biological parameters (temperature, acidity, umidity, etc.)

Yes, sometimes men have curved sperm, its tail is bent and it swims in circles, this is commonly from people who use products that can lower sperm count. like mountain dew is proven to do so. Even genetics.
