Aye depends on the wall... best thing is some industrial strength degreaser!!
Certain texture of dry wall seem to be impossible to get out, as well as like the other guy said... flat paint. If it's real bad, just paint over it!! Hah... Probobly wouldn't take too long.

It is easier if you have semi-gloss paint but on flat paint you can take a clean rag and some water and rug gently. Flat paint is very hard to get marks off of.

I always see advertisements for Mr Clean Magic Eraser. Have you tried that?

just use acetone or petrol and wipe the surface ensure it dosent spread
u can also give detergent wash
paint one coat if the area is big enough

i have two year old twins, so believe me when i say that Mr Clean Magic Eraser is the way to go. it removes ANYTHING!!!
