How do I remove dirt from the wall?

I was unknowingly rubbing the bottom of my house slippers onto my white walls and know the walls are dirty. What is the best way to remove the dirt without affecting the paint job?

Water and ammonia mix works very well. Just get a bucket and fill it with the mixture, (whatever you can handle). Use a rag and wet it good and then with relatively reasonable pressure scrub. Keep dipping the rag and ringing it out, but not too much you want it wet.
