Certainly. You're an actress. Many lesbians play heterosexuals in movies, and they pull this off quite well: you have the right to do any acting you want, just as they do. It's stock and trade in the biz. You're not really an evil person, but someday you might be asked to portray a vampire. Would you have a problem with that? Would you have a problem with the lead real of Joan of Arc? I think not.

(But what do I know? I'm not really wise, but I play a wise guy on Yahoo! Answers...!)

As long as you are comfortable with whatever role you play, go for it! It is the same as saying : I am an actress, playing a serial killer in a move - does this make you a serial killer?? No!!! Or being a teacher, but you hate kids! It's a job hon. As long as you do it right, what's the problem.

Besides, they reckon that playing a role you are not accustomed to, proves what a good or bad actor you are. Look at Charlise Theron in Monster! She played a lesbian opposite Christine RIcci. And she won an Oscar! Neither are lesbians - far from it. Charlise has that hotty Stewart Townsend waiting at home for her.

You must be in the movie as you might be playing an important role for someone else ou there, even though you don't think so. Each and every person in the movie is contributing for the betterment of the movie so don give up hope as you are also an important character in the movie.
Best of Luck for your movie and hope so you will be the best person in the movie. Do your part "Whole hearted and give your 100% effort." Then leave the rest to God.

Why not? The best roles are the ones that make the audience truly suspend belief. If you are a talented actress, then you should be able to make the audience believe that you are truly lesbian. And if you have qualms about being that close to another woman, maybe you should examine your homophobia and see why you are so uncomfortable with it.

(And, for the record, the filmed scenes are anything but romantic and secluded. They are choreographed and in front of many people. They will not be anything close to real.)

did you know that approximately 74% of people involved in various parts of the acting field are gay? Not just movies, theater actors, directors, writers, producers, people in the behind the scenes part of show bisness. It is a very visual and very demonstrative profession. And it is easier for outgoing people to work in the various parts of it. And a very open minded one too. No one really asks here what your sexual preferences are; just if you can do the job you are hired for.
so......can you do the job you are hired to do? If the answer is yes, then yes you should be in the movie. No one is hired just because they are a lesbian or gay.

You are an actress, meaning you play roles that are not you. Charlize Theron, great actress, played a lesbian in monster. Heath Ledger played a gay guy. Both received academy award nominations, the former won.
