Many home pregnancy tests show a positive or unclear result when read well after the suggested 3-5 minute window, independent of an actual pregnancy; this type of false positive is also known as an evaporation line. (Wikipedia)

Your best bet, is to go to a doctor, because home pregnancy test or not, you'll end up going to a doctor anyways.

I used First Response. I did it like 6 times too...just to be sure :) It is recommended that you use your first first pee of the day in the morning as it will have the most pregnancy hormone in it...I did that with the first test and it was positive and then I took a bunch more throughout the day and they were all positive as well. Good Luck!

I have had 6 children. I used a home pregnancy test and it was accurate everytime. One time I used one that was two years old. It was still accurate but the line was light so it was hard to tell so I went and got a new one. I would trust it unless you are so nervous that you are doing it too early to tell. Just wait a week and do it again to make sure.

They are very accurate. You can never get a false positive because of the way they are designed, in order for it to be positive a chemical reaction has to take place, no hormone -- no chemical reaction. You can have a false negative though if you take it too soon. Wait three day after your missed period with most tests, Early Respomse works earlier in most BUT not all people.

Well you could get a false negative but there is NO WAY you can have a false positive!! If the hormones that pregnancy releases is in your body which is the ONLY way it will give a positive then obviously it works

Yes if they didn't wotk they would not even make them or sell them.

Surprisingly, cheap tests purchased at dollar stores or on the Internet are often more sensitive and reliable than expensive store brands. HPT's are like soda: very cheap to make, and marked up quite a bit for retail.
