I know that Tiger Woods is a good athlete but LT has been a standout this year and has broken so many records so why didn't he win Male Athlete of the Year.

I don't think Tiger won because he plays alone. If that was the case then the award would be given to just Golfers, Boxers, Tennis players, Runners, Etc. How many Football, Baseball, or Basketball players have won the award? Isn't LT as deserving as the ones who did?

I believe the reason why is mainly because of Tiger's hot streak when he rattled off what 6 tournaments in a row, not to mention the decision was made before LT broke the single season TD and points records. While LT dominated the league their team only remains one game ahead of the Ravens for the lead in the AFC while Tiger Woods dominated his sport and noone was even close to touching him this year.

I agree with ape. LT's success was not all his own doing. His offensive line helped. So did the rest of the offense - if the Chargers couldn't pass the ball, other teams would just put 8 guys in the box on every play and stuff the run.
Tiger plays an individual sport, so his achievements are all his own.

Tiger dominates his sport ,whish is an individual sport, which makes it harder, he does not have team mates to help him , and he has proven over a longer period of time, ladanian is a great player but he has not won a championship yet, and we all know to be considered great you have to prove it over a longer period of time, someday he may hold all the record,s and then he will have a better chance.Indidual sports are much harder to excell at than team sports, and tiger is clearly the best at what he does.

LT is great but it is difficult to seperate his success from that of his team. Tiger Woods' achievements are all his own.

it maybe that tiger woods dad past away a few days back, and he never quit tournaments including british open. and he has achieved so much more than LT in his area of golf and has been playing for more years.

8 wins in 15 starts. the only other golfer ever to win more than 50% of his starts in one season was Byron Nelson.

I don't know. I still can't understand why the words "sport and athlete" are used to describe golfers.
