the actual name of the drug has to do with the molecular properites of the drug. The name that is actually chosen to market said drug is totally a matter of Market Research.

(Viagra kind of sounds peppy, doesnt it? Not the sort of thing you would name a sleeping pill....thats the sort of research they do. No kidding.)

Names of medicines, by law, cannot be words that have a meaning. So, you end up with names like Viagra and Celebrex that people just invent. You might be able to tell what the medicines are for just from their names, but the names of the medicines (by FDA regulations) cannot be words you would find in the dictionary. I'm not the greatest source of info on this subject, search the web to get better info.

nicely the numerous names you said are spelled in Hebrew context which includes Rebekah and Mikal both are some what ethnic names. Moses is a biblical call so i'd say that one is extremely classic too, yet with a lot of a few thing else I thoroughly agree. some human beings supply their little ones surnames as first names so the call would not die out, like Mckenzie, and that i imagine that others basically favor to call their toddler some thing diverse, yet i will't imagine dealing with existence with the call Apple.

It depends on whether you are talking about their scientific names or the common names. The chemical names are based on Latin. But the common names are based on sales research to find a name that will be popular and memerable. Or indicates what the medication will do.

There are three things that are taken into account before naming a drug.
One, its chemical composition(s)
Two,the effect it imparts
Three, the name of the company that manufactures it.
One or two syllable or alphabet is taken from each of the three and a patent marketable name is coined.
