You need to be careful how you write these.

1) I think you mean (70a - 42b)/(-14).

This is the same as -1/14(70a) - 1/14(-42b), or -5a + 3b.

2) Distribute through: 3/4(8x) + 3/4(12y) - 5/7(21x) - 5/7(-35y)

Canceling, you get 6x + 9y - 15x + 25y, or -9x + 34y.

3) 11/5/-6 is the same as 11/5 x -1/6, or -11/30.

4) Since 5/11 is less than 1 and 13/7 is greater than 1, might as well just pick 1. :)

Can you please clarify the questions:
For 1 and 3, parenthesis would be nice
for 2, does the expression = 0, and are you solving for a y in terms of x, or are you just simplifying?
and for 4, there are lots of numbers between 5/11 and 13/7. are you looking for a whole number?
