This is a christmas movie about a young donkey that I belive had big ears but I could be wrong. It's been a long time since I saw the movie, but his mother dies and he's kicked out of the stables and he doesn't have anyone and in the end he winds up being the donkey that carries mary on his back on christmas eve. Anyone know the name of this movie?

*Edit -- Trust me, this is the name of that movie. Its my mom's favorite out of all the stop-motion animation Christmas specials (like Rudolph, Frosty, etc) and I end up watching it with her about 5 times every Christmas. I know this movie.

I thought the other person was joking about the title, but I checked it out they are actually right. It was made in 1977 and it's called "Nestor, the Long-Eared Christmas Donkey."
