Jason Gillespie is generally considered as the first aboriginal cricketer to represent Australia (http://content-aus.cricinfo.com/ci/content/player/5392.html )

There have been prominent aboriginal cricketers before, at least two of whom - Jack Marsh (http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/australia/content/player/6500.html ) and Eddie Gilbert ( http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/australia/content/player/5387.html ) - came close to playing for Australia.

Can't answer the question, however can say Andrew Symonds was born in England to West Indian parents, he could have represented West Indies, or England, but chose Australia because he enjoyed the cricket, climate and lifestyle Queensland had on offer! Not to mention the mateship and FISHING!
Excellent choice I reckon!
