It all depends on your baby really, oh and also if you have tried getting your baby on a regular routine. I have had six children, and my youngest is eight weeks, her one year old brother was sleeping through the night at three months, her four year old brother at four months, that seems to be the average in my family.
Usually, a newborn baby will wake up for one main reason during the night. That is usually hunger. But other factors can also wake up baby throughout the night, like colic(excessive gas), a dirty diaper, or my favorite "play time".
Try getting baby on a routine, if it means waking up baby more frequently during the day to feed,go for it, just make sure you burp baby very well. If you give baby more awake active time during the day, and more frequent feedings, he or she will more than likely have a full tummy, and me more likely to sleep longer because they have had a more active time during the day and ate more
How long they sleep just really depends on them. My idea of baby sleeping through the night is usually between 6.5 and 7.5 hours. At least I guess that is considered sleeping throught the night if in the beginning you are getting up every hour and a half to two hours to feed the baby.
Believe me, trust me, you will sleep again some time soon. Good Luck & Best Wishes

My son who is 3 months started a pretty good night time schedule a few weeks ago. He goes to bed "for good" or "the big sleep" at anywhere from 10pm-1am and sleeps until about 4am- or 5am. He half-wakes to eat then falls right back to sleep until about 7am when he wakes up and plays for about an hour then sleeps some more until about 10am or 11am. I know it sounds hectic but I love it! Compared to him feeding every 1 or 2 hours all night long. But you also have to take into account that all babies are different and there are lots of different variables like breastfeeding/formula. Breastfed babies need to eat more often as breastmilk digest easier and faster. But feeding your child formula won't guarantee a good nights sleep at all. Just be patient and just keep in mind that it'll only get better. Good luck!

All kids are different! My first born slept through the night at 4 months. My second born is 2 yrs old and still wakes up at night about 3-4 nights a week. My baby is 3 months old and he still gets up once a night to eat.

I got lucky with my daughter, she slept through the night from the time we got her home from hospital. She would take her last bottle at 10:30-11:00 and sleep until about 6:00am next morning.

Here is the trick to make it happen.
In the evening at feeding time instead of feeding at the first signs, bath the baby instead, just cool enough for it to fuss a bit, then feed, when finished, baby will sleep for about six hours....
