I agree with "boTToms up"s answer... The suggestion to have intercourse to speed up delivery (in another answer) is doubtful... in advanced pregnancy I think some Drs do not suuggest it... My eldest daughter told me after her first delivery that she was really scared of all the excting stories told by her married friends... but that the pain was very much similar to one she normally has during her periods (she has pretty strong pains during the 1st days of periods)...

Further now the Maternity consultants advise the preg girls to do some exercises explained by physiotherapists (in their own clinic) that would speed up the movement of baby and help in smooth delivery...

So don't worry... do the simple exercises gently and give birth to a cute baby in time... good luck.

I really don't think it that bad but its really different for some people, for me, my labour started in when i woke up but didn't even realize it. I went through my day as usual and noticed I was gettin light back pains, I didn't know then that they were contractions, I called a friend and she told me to the hospital. Within hours I was ready to go, but i did have eperderil(not sure if i spelt that right) and I didn't feel a thing when I got the drug. Anyhow, in the end its all worth it, so have fun, good luck and congrats!

I agree with Bottoms Up. It seems like every woman who has had a baby has a story about how awful or long or short, yada yada yada their labor was, when in actuality it is different for everyone. I have had two children and both times it was completely different.

Just go with the flow, stay focused and if you need something (epidural or whatever) go with it. There is no wrong or right way to giving birth.

I have f kids...my first they had to help me out and induce me. All ofmy kids i had to have my mebranes broken for me, but my labors came on all the sudden but stayed atagnante at 4 cm until they broke my water. I went with no pain meds with any of them though. It was bad, but i knew it would be worth it.......I just kept telling myself it would be over soon and soon i could hold my baby. Congrats and i wish you luck. Sometimes sex will help you go into labor especially if he ejaculates in you. The sperm has some of the hormone a dr. would use to induce you:) Good Luck and Congrats.

why hear stories that will scare you? YOU NEED TO CONCETRATE ON being positive and focused. Stop watching TLC and that baby day garbage and read to your baby, rub your belly and dont listen to anyones stories/
