How long do you have to be missing to be declared officially dead?

I'm just wondering as to how many years it is.

I don't think it matters how long you've been missing to be declared officially dead. The evidence is what matters. If there is no body, then there would have to be enough evidence left behind to support that you were dead. Say, enough blood, that, matches the missing person, and has been expelled in a way that would match a death(so, someone couldn't just save a bunch of blood and throw it around a room because blood ages outside of the human body and it would be able to distinguish a fake suicide/homicide). I really don't think the length of being missing matters because change identities all the time and as far as my mother knows, I've been missing for like 4 months already. Sorry mom.
