I know the Bears got rid of their cheerleaders (The Honey Bears) back when Virginia McCaskey took over the team. She didn't like the fact that the cheerleaders were a "distraction to the players" it has also been assumed that Virginia was one of those old fashioned women who didn't approve of women dressing up and dancing around on the sidelines like an object. She said they were a distraction and had them removed for the 1986 season.
