-People celebrate Christmas to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

-To prepare, people decorate, put up the tree, buy and wrap presents

-What people do on Christmas Eve depends on what the family likes. Some prepare a big dinner at home for the whole family, put up the tree, and decorate. Some go out to eat and then just talk and stuff.

The purpose of Christmas is to celebrate when the Three Wise Men visited God's Holy Son and the Messiah, Jesus.
The preparations for Christmas differ with every country or religion. For my family, we put up a Christmas tree, decorate our house with lights, and celebrate our personal religion Advent.
On Christmas Eve, kids will fall asleep early so when they wake up, there will be presents left under the treefrom the famous Santa Claus. Really, the parents put the presents there. Kids wake up, unwrap their presents, and spend time with their family. Then the prepare Christmas dinner and eat.
