I've read several articles that LightScribe may be launching full-colour labelling systems in the near future instead of the current grayscale ones.

If that happens, will they be changing the lightscribe hardware(the burner) or the type of CD so that the labels will be in full colour?

Most importantly, if I own a LightScribe Burner now, do I have to purchase a new LightScribe burner to label my CDs in full colour or do I just have to buy new LightScribe CDs that I can use in my current LightScribe Burner to produce full colour labels?

Whats the possibility?

Do help me out. Thanks in advance!

Current hardware (including the drive and disks) are currently designed and created specifically for grayscale.

There is no way for your current lightscribe CDs to be made in color, the top film is made to darken as it is "scribed" and the only variable is how dark it is. New CDs would need to come out with a film that would (I'm guessing) cycle through colors in the light spectrum - red through violet - which would actually be relatively easy to figure out using the right material. The problem is that this would then result in all the same level of brightness/saturation through the picture (almost super cartoony looking.)

I'm guessing the CD would have to be burned twice, once for color, and then again for saturation (with which brightness could be mimicked). This, to me, means you're definatly looking at new hardware for the drive, as well.

My guess is not only will the new stuff require a whole new set of gear, but it will all be easily 3 to 5 times as expensive, if not more, than what we have now, and take at least twice as long.

The exciting thing, though, is that Lightscribe is a fledgling tool, and has not nearly come into a fruition of practicality -- but with many mainstream PCs making use of the technology, it should nto be long before this method is fast, cost efficient, and very precise.

Until then, gonna be a bit less practical, and a bit more expensive.

Hazel Eyes are a mix of brown, green, blue and grey. So if somebody is wearing a blue shirt and that they have got blue eyes their eyes are very wonderful by way of shirt they're wearing. in case you have hazel eyes you have a brilliant form of distinctive colorings. So once you place on a brown shirt your eyes could look a splash greater brown, and in case you place on a green shirt they could look greater green.

It is no good asking this question on here. why don't you contact LightScribe, go to their website and find out for sure, on their web site there should be a contact us tag where you can ask questions and get the reply...
