Yeah, it's a good idea but if there weren't any flashbacks (like of the people's lives) then I'm not sure how you could make the movie last very long. I think you need a little bit more of a plot....for example, maybe the people are different, but are somehow oddly connected and don't know it until they become stranded together..... You sound pretty smart and I'm sure you can think of something creative.

i'm a screenwriter myself so the best advice i could give you is make sure it has character - so long as each and every one of your characters is 3 dimensional, realistic, and believable you could do a 2 hour movie about someone in line to get a cup of coffee in the morning and it would be entertaining.
Too often these days people put plot over substance - make it about the characters and it'll connect with people.

as long because it is not too uninteresting, with the aid of fact a transformation of surroundings is mandatory for the action picture to proceed to snatch the objective audience's interest. and that i think of it incredibly is going to possibly be a comedy with the aid of fact it incredibly is in all possibility difficult to maintain a immediately face once you're between the seven human beings crammed into an elevator. Merry Christmas!

Yes... you could make a statement on how humans relate to eachother and how we are really all the same.
Sounds like The Breakfast Club... but those people were stuck in detention
