41 weeks pregnant?

Question

im 41 weeks pregnant now and so fed up. I am dying to meet my baby. I have a membraine sweep today which i hope will do something because i am in so much pain eveytime the baby moves. I dont no how succesful membrane sweeps are? any answers and if i am unable to have one i think i will cry. i feel so depressed now so anyadvice will be valued. apart from ( take this time to rest) im bored of resting and cant take anymore.

i know how you feel. I was there about 3 years ago with my son. I was one week overdue, they did the membrane sweep and nothing happen. Two days later i went in and they hooked me up to fetal monitor and gave me a drug to induce labor, after a half an hour nothing happen so they sent me home. I then went back that afternoon and took the pills again and waited attached to the fetal monitor for half an hour, went home. The next day they checked me into the hospital and started an iv drip to induce labor. It slowly worked but not fast enough. At 2:30 p.m. I asked if I could go home, my doctor told me if I didn't dilate more than 4 centimeters before 3:30 that I could go home. At 3:20 a nurse came in and broke my water, my son was born at 4:30p.m. Word of caution, depending on your doctor and the nurses around you, you will be hooked up to fetal monitor the whole time, so you are basically just laying there waiting, hoping something will happen. I hope this helps at least a little. P.S. my second is due in Feb, I'm hoping not to repeat this method of labor.

Go over the items you plan to take with you and be prepared for labor to start at any time. The sweeps work sometimes,but the advice to rest know is relevant because the next time you get to sleep through the night after the baby gets here is a long time away. Try to do something you enjoy and is not really tiring to take your mind off of waiting.

I've never heard of the membrane stripping. I've heard of being induced. This is one of my fears as well is that I'll be overdue waiting impatiently. I'm already impatient and I'm only at 32 weeks I still have 8 more to go technically. I want my baby to be healthy so I don't want her born too early but she hurts me so much! I know what your saying there. The Braxton-Hicks are terrible too. Don't let anybody tell you that they aren't painful. To some they aren't but to me they are!

baby just relax, get your rest. I was 2 weeks over due with an almost 9 pound baby, you will meet your baby soon, be patient , enjoy the sleep now while you can, im assuming you have a partner who is helping you cope

I am 8 weeks pregnant and have been on bedrest for 2 weeks. I know what you mean by being bored of resting.

I had my membranes stripped last Thursday.. and still no sign of the baby..

but I know people who have gone into labor within HOURS of having it done.. Good luck! I know how you feel!

will your doctor be inducing you if you hit 42 weeks and still no baby?

Im 36 weeks now and I want this baby out, lol--I cant imagine what it's going to be like if I go over my due date.

If that dont work go for a very long walk, that makes you go into labor, so does castor oil but that is really gross,, my friend drank a whole bunch of it and she went right into labor
