I know this is my second question regarding babies' hair in like 10 minutes LOL but I swear I'm not a weirdo! Anyway, Here's the question:

After my daughter's bath (she's 3.5 mo. old), I comb her hair the same way. One day when I was combing it, my mother-in-law said, "Are you training her hair?" I had no idea what she was talking about! Anyway...I tried to comb my daughter's hair the other way after her next bath and it was impossible! I didn't know you could "train" a baby's hair to comb to one side and not the other!? This was NOT my intention... IS THIS TRUE??

YES YOU ARE A WEIRDO

You can "train" anybody's hair silly. You know when you first try a new hairstyle and it doesn't like to cooperate? It takes a while for your hair to "train" itself. BUT with that said, sometimes hair just will NOT go a certain way...as I have found with Logan's hair. I tried to grow it out a few times into like a beach boy kinda look...but his hair is wiry and doesn't do ANYTHING and even our hairstylist agreed his hair just won't do it. SOOOO, long story short, yes you can train hair, but somethings just won't work no matter how hard you try.

LoL Weirdo or not, guess what... once we become parents we just come up with weird random questions. Its a right, though so don't fret.

My experience is, my daughter was born with hair. It was going one way from birth like it was "trained" while inside me. She has a cowlick at the center of her forehead (as do i) and when she was little her hair just naturally went that way (whether i wanted it to or not).

Now she is 2 years old with some WILDLY curly hair that does as it wants. But after her bath i comb it straight to get the knots out, it still wants to go back to the way it was when she was a baby...until it curls. Then run,,, cuz those things are WILD. LoL

Congrats and good luck.

Yes you can train hair, it is the same when a child has bangs & you try to sweep them to the side, the will usually not do so. It doesnt matter though, you combed it how you like it...and that is how it is, if you continue to comb the other way it will go that way too

She is young it can be done. I found the easiest way is to use scotch tape. I know it sounds bad but just be gentle.
