who researched full planes not crashing?

Actually I do not think that was real research. I believe that was from a Stephen King novel.

I did a quick web search and came back with only a blog mentioning the Stephen King book (The Stand) and the alleged researcher's name (James D.L. Staunton). And a search on the researcher turns up nothing but links back to Stephen King's web site. Looks like it's a big work of fiction!
