well you may be surprised to hear this...
Mac (created by Apple) was the first computer company set in the US...
Windows (created by Mircosoft) copied Apple and became somehow popular...
Lot of ppl never heard of Apple until iPods get popular...and they sudden have awareness of Apple products...
It's depend on your life...
Mac is more for fun person (email, chat, pictures, video, etc)
Windows is more for professional person (Mircosoft softwares)
However, Mac has feature where they have no (I would say few to be safe) viruses...while Windows have zillion of 'em...
So...it's up to you...
email me for more of my knowledge of 'em...
Peacee

As stated before, it depends on what you want to do and what your experience with computers is.
Systems with a Microsoft OS (operating system) are:
Generally less expensive
Relatively easy to operate
Have a greater source of technical support
Have more accessories available
Are prone to viruses
Are used in businesses around the world
Apple and the Mac OS are:
Generally more stable
Relatively easy to operate
Have no viruses
Are used in many schools, have better graphics for graphic design
Will run most any Microsoft based software (when utilizing optional software)
Can open/save documents to either Mac or Microsoft format
Both systems will allow you to do the same things. If all you are doing is surfing the internet, email, and video games you could use either. Just check out the pricing on software and components before you decide to commit.
If you have never owned a computer before, then it’s a matter of personal preference. If you have worked with nothing but apple brand computers, most people are not happy when switching to a Microsoft platform. The same goes for people who start with Microsoft and try to switch to Apple. It isn’t always true.
In many situations the choice is like deciding whether you want to own a right or a left hand drive vehicle. The will both handle the road, they just take getting use to. I have been a computer technician for many years. I have never owned my own Mac. I keep threatening to buy one. I have tried Mac’s and not like the interface. However it isn’t like it wouldn’t be easy to change.

Im gettin a little tired of this ongoin argument due to the fact that people think that PCs are all created by microsoft. Microsoft doesnt build PCs! There are tons of PC manufacturers out there and thay all insist on using microsoft op systems! I aint a particular fan of microsoft but I WILL say there must be a reason for the majority of PC mfgs to use windows based op systems! Go out and look at the requirements for software on the local walmart shelf! You wont see much for MAC! Furthermore, you wont see many MAC software manufacturers! The fact that APPLE is introducing a new intel based system that will alllow you to run windows on it should be enough to tell ANYONE MAC isnt compatible with the PC market! As far as the later goes, why the H would ANYONE be stupid enough to buy a MAC, then buy a windows op system to run software that the MAC wont? This is another foolish attempt by APPLE to up their sales!
Take nintendo above for instance! He apparently doesnt realize its himself who is downloading viruses! The PC doesnt do it by itself! A PC is only as smart as the person using it!
