My mom gave me a short-sleeved turtleneck and a pair of pleated gauchos from Liz Claiborne this Christmas. I'm 23, almost 24, are these clothes too old for me?

I wouldn't worry about the brand name, if it looks good, do it up and rock the turtle neck and gauchos...they sound like classic pieces that would go with anything, maybe not for a night out but sound nice for work, choose fashion forward pieces to go with them and you will avoid any "matronly" look...try the pants with a nice high boot or some flats in a contrasting colour...matching flats would be a bit "mumsy" with it, I think...wear the the turtleneck with some nice jeans...the key may be not to wear the separates together...

You can wear them just fine. Liz Claiborne has a variety of styles some younger than others, if you like them wear them if you don't exchange them.

Try a second hand store. Give it a chance, it can't hurt to look. You can even just wear them until you find ones you really like.

Not if you like them. My daughter is 13 and wants a pair of gouchos. I've seen lots of young people wear them where I live.

No! If you think they are cute, then it's not too old for you. You might end up starting a new trend amongst your friends!

nah. unless you care about your reputation. unless you already wear ugly clothes. or if you dont have any friends. or they have uglier clothes than liz clairborne.
