Actually, the sentencing states that he is to die WITHIN 30 days, not in 30 days. That means that he could be executed tomorrow if they wished.

It's amazing how many idiots are ready to hang someone convicted on a flawed trial!! On top of that his defence lawyer was murdered half way through the trial so he wasn't defended properly. I don't say he should be spared, but he should at least be given a FAIR trial before sentence!! How many of you idiots out there would be gunning for the death penalty if it was a Brit or an American who was sentenced on such a basis!?!?!!

Maybe less than 29 days...They should hang him within 30 days,so they could do it anytime...I am against the death penalty,so I don't think killing him is the right thing to do...
Yes,Saddam is guilty of many things, including murder, but he would have deserved a fair trial, not the play put in scene by a court that is a marionette of the US...

To the likes of Saddam, Hitler, Stalin and something the only sentence appropriate for them could be Athenian Draconian regulation. so which you do no longer could flow historic previous looking, the Athenians (whilst they convicted somebody of comparable crimes "previous lifelike doubt", the will lead the guy to a place out area Athens the place a public execution surpassed off. that they had 2 Pine timber grown approx. 15ft aside. they could bend their tops, tie the convicts legs on each and each, and then "permit flow". merciless, inhumane, and down precise terrible. One draw returned to this variety of execution nonetheless....you spot after a number of those public executions, there have been not greater rapists, Armed Robbers, Hijackers, highway Robbers, thugs praying on the weal, or mass murderers, alongside with convicted traitors..... humorous how the Ancients worked out some issues isn't' it. historic previous comments, you're able to stroll/commute appropriate, camp exterior, or never had to be bothered if the door is locked, everywhere in the Athenians territories.

He should be saved as the war against Iraq was launched on the dodgy pretext of Saddam having WMD... which he didn't, other than low power battefield weapons.
Also in historical context... there no need to rush to execute him. We're in the midst of confusion as it is... keeping him alive might yield better historical accounts.
Are Iraqi's enjoying a better standard of life under Allied occupation/new government. You can't force democracy on the middle east.
We can afford to exile him.... 1 hour of Iraq's oil production could keep him in exile for rest of his natural life in a guarded secret compound, say in Iceland... not luxury.. but with books and tv.

WHAT? This man has no remorse for anything he has done and for the innocent lives he has taken. My husband is in Baghdad right now. You bet your a.. he needs to die. They should use some of his own tactics to execute him. Too many people have died, lost a loved one or has fallen to his ignorance. The only thing more stupid than this question is the suicide bombers that not only kill for him but die for him. NOW thats STUPID.

I doubt he'll get a reprieve. But killing him won't solve anything. It won't bring anyone back. All capital punishment does is satisfy the public's appetite for revenge. He'll turn into a "martyr" for alot of "people". Some very dangerous types of "people". Why not let him live to regret it?

In any religion there is not a single word that man can punish another man. It is only belong to god. As Jesus said is there any body here with out any mistakes can put him to death. If he is guilty by killing people vise verse if u kill him for that?

I am trying to remain calm as i answer this question. Why in gods name would anybody want to help save him from the death penalty. That is a huge insult to all the hundreds and thousands of peoples family and relatives that had to endure there family members deaths by the hands of this evil man. It would of been easier if they just shot him as soon as he put his head out of that hole in the ground he was hiding in.I know that death penalty is final and I know that he has been given a fair sentence, he managed not to have too many judges or witness killed off during the trial,so let the gallows be prepared and get it over and done with as quick as possible.
