All five former members of the Spirit Squad are straight. However the men came to the ring wearing tank-tops and tracksuit bottoms, which are not associated with the gay community. So the Spirit Squad ARE as gay as they look, which is not at all.

No, it's just part of their gimmick. Most people see male cheerleaders as a bit fruity and they played it up.
As annoying as Kenny is I think he'll end up being one of my favorites to watch. When he gets over his "Flair issues"
