Well, first, it depends on where it hits. If it hits somewhere on land, it will send all kinds of debris into the outer reaches out our atmosphere. This debris will remain suspended up there for an extremely long time, many years, more or less. This will cause a rapid drop in the temperature of the earth and we will be plunged into another ice age.

If it hit anywhere in any ocean, it would be a bad deal for anyone on the coast of that ocean, or for inhabitants several miles inland as well. This will cause Tsunamis. It will suck. So just pray to whoever your God is that nothing like that happens in your lifetime...

No. great meteoroids and small asteroids pass close to to Earth somewhat oftentimes. yet until very at present we weren't attentive to it. human beings purely assumed when you consider that no massive one had hit of their lifetime that they have got been incredibly uncommon and not passing close to to Earth. Now that astronomers are finding for them all of us be attentive to that each and every few years some especially massive ones pass especially close. And the recent media continuously comments on the close passes as though they have been a threat. And the media in no way comments whilst the astronomers say it is going to omit. So people who hear the the television or examine blogs get the fake impact that astronomers are continuously predicting one will hit quickly

Depends on the Size of meteor and speed of Impact.
But if a Meteor of the Diameter of 1.5 Km crashed from a distance
as far as the Moon then we would all die.
Insects and other small biological organisms would perhaps survive.

It has been surmised in the scientific community that a meteor as small as a bus would have cataclysmic effects upon the Earth.

A large one would simply vaporize us or send Earth spinning into the Sun.

If it hit in a populated area there would be many casualties. There could be tsunamis and disruption of the sun"s rays. It would not be a good time for the inhabitants of the planet.
