I am looking for something of higher quality than a typical gift-type Bible. Preferably a Thompson Chain Reference...but that is not mandatory. I checked Zondervan's website and several bible bookstores, but they didn't have what I was looking for.
Are there any places where a person can have a bible specially made?

If you don't have any constructive information then don't bother answering. Stating "Dunno" is just the same as stating "I am a total idiot."

Try with Evangelical Society in your place...If they don't have one readily in stock, they will try to get you one soon from any where in our globe, provided you are ready to pay the expenses.

The tcbible link has pink Bibles.
This is a great site because it lists the stats of the Bibles as well., ie. red-letter, font size, concordance, etc....
Many but not all gift Bibles will be imitation leather. Zondervan is a step up from Nelson, who produce great Bibles though cheaply made. It looks like the pink ones here are only in imitation leather.
I am with you, I wish better quality Bibles were made because they are something you want to keep for a long time and not have them wear out on you. The NIV version affords you more choices I think because it is a very popular version, more so than say the Catholic NAB. Anyways, good luck, hope I was of some assistance.

Dunno. Never heard of a pink one. But you might be able to get someone to make a custom leather cover for it. Expect that to be expensive, though.
Your more conservative publishers such as Thompson wouldn't make a pink one. Too racy for them, and not enough market.
