Although I have not read too much about the Zune, I know for a fact that the Zune and Creative players are better. Although iPods are very popular, they can be very iffy. Out of my 5 friends who got iPods, all minis, 2 switched to Creatives because they were fed up with their iPods. Two of the others have gone through multiple players (2 and 3) in the past year. Either the scroll wheel broke, or they had problems with the hard drive. I got a Creative player at the same time, and have kept it since. As for Zunes vs. Creatives, I would go for Creatives because they have been around the block, and Zunes are still new. Creatives have proven to be reliable. Zunes may be also, but Creatives have proven their worthiness of being called yours. Another reason not to get an iPod is that they can be very expensive.

I think you should either go with the Zen or the Zune. I asked for a Creative Zen Vision for Christmas but my mom misread and bought me a Zune but it was a good mistake. It's a little bigger and a tiny bit bulky but that kinda makes it feel more expensive and important. And also the screen is AMAZING. I also like that it doesn't have a circle-spin-scrolly-thingie to go through the songs. It has a lot of memory and you don't have to only download iTunes. Although, the Zune store only has music and doesn't have as much stuff to download from the official store. But then again, you can download stuff off of limewire and you don't have to pay for it. The battery life is pretty good too. And it feels a little more, like, personal if you know what i mean. And there's probably gonna be more stuff for it soon. The headphones that come with it are kinda big for my ears though. I don't know, so far I really, really, really like the Zune. But if you want a lot of shows and stuff then you gotta go with the iPod but ONLY because it has all the Shows, Movies, Games, and stuff on iTunes.

I would definetly go with the zune. I went through 3 ipods that kept breaking, i was tired of it and began researching creative vs zune. the reason i didnt get creative is because you need 3 programs, one for video, one for songs, and one for pictures. my friend has had one for years and even thought its still in great shape, she says its a pain to get songs onto it. I got a zune for christmas and am extremly happy with it. the screen is widescreen and great quality, the sound quality is good, its easy to use and can be personalized (put your pictures as a backround). It also just feels and looks tougher than an ipod. another great feature is i didnt have to transfer any of my music, which was one thing i was dreading doing. i just put in the installation disc and it found all my music (that was on itunes) and put it into the zune library. theres no videos for sale in the zune marketplace, but i assume that will change soon. hope this helps. ipods are so overrated

As far as playing videos goes, I would go with the Zen. I've compared all three, and even though the Zune has a bigger screen, the Zen's is brighter and much more vivid. The iPod didn't compare at all because it's screen can only display 65K colors compared to the 262K colors the Zen's screen can display. Plus the Zen is compatible with loads of video formats right out of the box, so you don't have to convert them.

hmm well i just got my ipod and i have a mp3 player from creative from at least 4 years ago and it works wonders...although it only holds about 14 songs but its old, i think you should try the creative zen thingy even though i havent heard of it....
you should also check out consumer reports on all three of them and then compare!
