Are there specific software programs that someone can recommend that I can use to block any website that has the word "porn" or whatever in it? I need to block access not only to the search engines for these free mpeg websites, but to the websites themselves. And there are a ton of them.

The idea of blocking porn is almost technically inpossible if you are concerned with your children and making sure they are not able to view that. Because if they are savy, there are ways around even the best porn blockers, as even one of their classmates might send them some porn from an innocent address that the nanny program would never catch.

However the if you just buy a HARDWARE key logger, and then check that every day or so, then you would be able to catch them in the game and punish them accordingly.

Or there are several screen capture programs that you can setup on a timer so as to take random pictures of the computer screen and send them to a hidden directory somewhweres without your childrens knowledge. Then too if they deal with the porn, you would catch it that way too, and the best way to teach obedience is to allow them to disobey, then catch them, and punish them, so myself in the case of children, I think thats the best porn solution.

If you are just concerned with not being offended by all the trash yourself, as in email ads and like that, then the solution is to get a new email account somewheres and do not use it for anything but your personal mail, have some other email address that you merely use to catch all the spam at, when you give your email out to any company, or any advertisement you answer,

That way all the viagra ads, and porn solitications would go to your spam address, and you could be reasonably sure you would not get porn in you inbox on your good email address.

Unfortunately it is difficult to impossible. Some programs block some sites but not others, and even if you used every program out there, you'd get bogged down in speed and some would still get through.

The only solution is to monitor people on your computer as they're using it. If it is children, they need to be watched anyway.

Technically you can't really do that comprehensively... it is essentially impossible to block all unwelcome sites. Even the most effective blocking software is only going to be 99% effective, and any moderately savvy user can disable it or get around it (if that is what you are trying to do). That having been said, here is a list of respected software packages and reviews of each:

Stop visiting porn sites. Delete your cookies, files, and obtain anti-pop-up blockers / spyware.

You only get porn pop ups because you went to porn sites.
