that person is always confused,sometimes appreciates us and also is angry with us due to some reason.

I don't know much about the situation, but if he/she seems angry with you, ask him why. If he won't answer, try talking to him about what is making him/her angry, preferably without prying into their lives because you don't want to offend them. If they refuse you, or continue to treat you like this, where you can't talk to them and they are always angry with you, then maybe they aren't interested in a friendship, and you might try looking for someone who is more appreciative of the friendship and isn't constantly angry with you. But it sounds like the person may simply need someone to help them with their confusion.

I hate to answer your question with a question, but what is going on in YOUR life where you would want to be friends with someone like that? The time you took to ask this question probably pales in comparison to the time you have spent thinking about why this person is who he or she is. You could have better spent that time cultivating a friendship with someone who is like minded so instead of worrying about why that person is mad or whatever, you could be planning a fun day with Ms. positive. RUN from this 'friendship'
