Well, I liked "Armageddon" with Bruce Willis, and an older one called "The Towering Inferno" was good too. "Space Cowboys" with Clint Eastwood, and in the same vein, "Apollo 13" as well. Gad, there's a ton of them, but that'll give you four to start with.

DR. STRANGELOVE - hands down - Peter Sellers, Robert Ryan, George C. Scott - human stupidity caused total disaster - number one movie ever on many lists - always in top twenty, extremely funny but very disturbing, academy awarded and academy nominatied performances.

Oooo, try "Into Thin Air" - about the disaster on Mt. Everest several years ago. The movie is based on Jon Krakauer's book of his account of the disaster. Another great one is "K2."

it isn't the recent frightening action picture. If a action picture is made through the same human beings as frightening action picture that's a stable action picture, yet whilst that's made through the same human beings as Meet the Spartans (which i think of disaster action picture is) then that's going to be surely terrible, definitely the worst action picture ever!
