So, my baby is almost 4 mo. old. She was born with a ton of hair, but now, it is falling out (mostly on one side of her head). I'm thinking about trimming her hair in order to get it a little more even, but I'm really not ready to give her her first hair cut! (Her hair is already starting to fall into her eyes, by the way).

Have any other mommies/daddies dealt with this problem? Should I trim it or just let it be? Looking for opinions.

p.s. You can *sort of* see what I'm talking about in some of her pics on our family web site..... here's the link: http://tromblyfamily.blogspot.com/

I had a little girl in my daycare a few years back that had the same problem, she had the most beautifully crazy black hair I've ever seen! One day I put it up on top of her like Pebbles in a cloth hair tie and it looked ADORABLE!! I kept doing it cause it kept it out of her face and tamed the mane LOL but I always took it out before her mom picked her up b/c I was afraid she'd hate it...one day mom came early and by golly she LOVED it!

Just play with it a bit with different soft hair ties and see if you can come up with something...I know she's losing it on one side but maybe you can hide it a bit. If you do, be sure to send me some pics LMAO

OH and at least your daughter HAS hair :)

My daughter at the age of 8 weeks lost all of her hair on top. She looked like a 90 year old man. Since then, her hair has grown in, but it is very short (she is know almost 16 months, and your daughter has tons more hair then her), anyway, the hair that did not fall out turned into these fine wispy strands around her head. It actually looks kind of funny. My husband is always telling me I should cut it to even it out. I won't. I have it in my mind that you just let little girls hair grow.

So, with that being said, I would invest in some cute bows and maybe a headband to two, and use that to keep your daughters hair out of her eyes. (but start young, I missed that window of opportunity with my daughter - as soon as a barrette goes into her hair, she rips it out),

Good luck.

Well, personally I would just let it be. It will all even itself out more than likely. Besides, I don't know about your skills, but I had to give up on trimming my sons hair at home, because I am just no good at it.

I also must say that she is the most beautiful little thing, such a doll!

Its perfectly normal..babies sometimes lose some of their hair. Especially if the baby sleeps on that side alot..but theres is no need to cut it..put little bows on her to get her hair out of the way and I'm sure she will be just fine. But dont give her a haircut yet..she is way to young and it could end up messing up her hair later on...I have heard its not good to cut babies hair before they turn 1. Dont worry your baby is fine..she is very adorable!

Did you latterly have a toddler? My hair falls off around the front after my toddlers turne 3 months and then started starting to be decrease back after some 12 months, that must be the toddler hairs starting to be decrease back. My youngest is two now and that i nevertheless have new toddler hairs starting to be. Or it somewhat is a nutrition deficiency.

Just let it be the new hair will start growning and later you can give it a trim to even it out. Your baby will look fine she is to cute to even notice.

Well this happend because they favor the side when they are sleeping. No worries though, it will grow back soon enough. If it bothers you ...get a hair cut, but what will you do if she starts to favor the other side? Just be patient. It bothers you more than her. Congrats on the new one.

All baby's lose some of there hair after they are born. If it getting in her eyes use a clip or a small cloth rubber band and pull it up.

Maybe you can just trim it out of her eyes. I remember seeing her pics on here before. She has the prettiest smile I have ever seen!!!! She's a cutie pie!!!!

My mom shaved my head when that started happening to me so that she could get it even. I would definatly suggest this because my mom said after that my hair grew back thicker and even and now I have a thick full head of hair.
