because in Australia you only get in to uni if you have the marks, but in the US all i here is saving money to go to college no matter if your dumb or smart. is that true?

No it is not true. Universities only allow the people that meet the qualifications that they have set.

There is, sadly, a tendency to send everyone who can sign their name (or play sports) to a college or university (really the same thing) in the USA.

My neighbor went to a trade school, and after 5 years, completed his certificate ("Journeyman's Card") as an electrician. He makes twice as much as your average college grad. There are some other skilled trades like that as well.

Sadly, at least 1/3 of the population only completes "high school" (age 18), and some never never get that far. It is obvious that these people will have a tough time making a good living in the future.

Well almost everyone can get into some type of college, be it an Ivy League school or a technical college. Competition is fierce at some American colleges with only 20% of applicants getting in.
