You have to have a file that isnt corrupted for the songs to playback flawlessly... If that doesn't work then you have a defective Ipod and I hope you have a warranty :P so that you can return it and get a non-defective one :P

It will probably never happen, just a situation to deal with. I would scrub it, then organize the songs you want before hand, with the right amount of dead time between songs, and put them all into the ipod at once. If you like changing your playlists a lot I've found it tends to make playback a little worse.
