Common sense is the sense of the common person. By definition, most of us use common sense whether it is good sense or not.

These answers are interesting, but to clarify- The word common means "belonging to or participated in by a community as a whole." "Sense" means general conscious awareness. The term common sense then means "the conscious awareness of the community as a whole." So, by definition, it is not possible for people in general to "not have common sense," because our definition of common sense depends on the people.

Common sense is thinking about something in a simple matter rather then a complex way. People with no common sense are not able to figure it out a easy task. Some people have book smarts but, when it comes to the common sense part of it they are arrogant!!!!! DUH!

just because you don't use your common sense doesn't mean that other people don't! common sense is knowing something without having to be told about it or without actually requiring thought to remind yourself of something!

Common Sense is Logic.

Reason why is not used, this civilization is hypnotized and easily brain washed, therefore they become illogical and have no common sense of what reality is.

Basic Reasoning and it doesn't have to be taught probable people don't use it because they expect things to come out different or difficult
