Blair's commercial flight overshot it's landing today without injury. I am glad he was not hurt but why was he flying on a commercial jet? What would the world look like today without Thatcher, Churchill or Blair? Why does the UK not protect the country and the world without a setup simular to AirForceOne???? The world depends on UK leaders as much as the US

I know, I was shocked myself. Regardless of how you feel about Blair and Bush (I cant stand either really), they are the leaders of the two most powerful and influential countries in the world (like it or not). It is a security risk to other passengers and more so it is a risk to our world stability to have the leader of the UK on a commercial flight. He may not be Winston Churchill, but maybe his successor will be and he/she will be at great danger on commercial flights with pilots that can't even turn a corner!

It costs money to keep a plane like the President's. Since the Kingdom has shrinked, no extra money to pay for the luxuries. And hence Blair flies commercial jets.
see, when kicked out of the colonies, no more looting of other people's wealth, you live like a poor and be called a "poodle". He's just George's sidekick.

I don't know! It's very strange. The PM of Canada never flies commercial. It's a security risk to everyone else on the flight. The procedure in Canada is that when the PM takes a personal trip on his goverment plane, he reimburses the goverment whatever the price of an airline ticket would be to his destination.

Well the chances of getting injured or killed in a plane are all the same regardless if its commercial or private. It just shows there is no difference between Tony Blair or anyone else he is just a human like the rest of us.

Maxx - it was a publicity stunt......Blair, has huge stocks (like Bush) in the Airline industry....it will start booming now.....not bombs....business ! You should have posted politicians does the weirdest things, that keeps cracking us up !
