The children in the family were excited because today they were going to meet their father at the railway station. They had never seen it before and the first thing they noticed was the size of the building. It was huge! They saw several railroad tracks with long walkways between so the people could get on and off the train. Finally, with lots of noise, the train with the father arrived. Slowly it came down the track and finally stopped beside them. Out jumped their dad and they all hugged. It was sure a fun trip to the railway station.
For the past week the kids had been excited and talking about the picnic. Finally, the day had arrived and all four of the children were excitedly running from the car to the place where a band was playing. They were amazed at all the sights and sounds. There were people cooking hamburgers, hotdogs, and chicken. There were people involved with games of all kinds. There were kids flying kites. They saw lots of American flags and several soldiers and lots of friends. What a fun time they were going to have as they ate and played and shared in all the excitement.
