is my chemical romance (mcr) a bad band? like are there songs bad....what are they about? about sex? about drugs? about life?
please help me out here! my friends LOVE mcr and i want a cd...but if they have bad music then my mom won't let me get it! so please help me out here!

well i hav heard one of there songs! "welcome to the black parade"i liked that sond...but i don't listen to the words...i just listen to the beat...but my mom listens to the words...so yeah...if they are bad please just tell me! cuz i wouldnt understand it! what is a good age to listen to that kind of music?

You never gave your age. Which is probably good since I'm assuming your pretty young.
I'm a diehard MCR junkie. Love their music. They curse (a lot) but other than that, their songs are not bad. I can see where some parents would see it as bad though. They do make references to death and other things of horror. But they did that on purpose since they are horror and comic fans. They use it as metaphors to say other things. I do allow my 11 year old daughter to listen to them. Not because I'm such a huge fan but because she is mature for her age. She hears the cursing but does not repeat it.
They are not about sex or drugs. They are more about life and death, depression, revenge. Things like that.
Do not get the MCR album just because your friends are into them. Be your own person. Listen to what you like, not what they like.

heres a tip. dont buy a CD just cause you're friends like it. Go to purevolume.com and listen to new bands, including MCR if you're curious.

i own all three of they're cds and some of they're songs have personal meaning to the band.
like for example the song "helena" off thier second cd was about thier singer and bassist's grandmother who taight them how to sing and to do what they're heart told them to do. some of them are also about thier singers struggle with alcohol abuse. he's been sober for almost 2 years now.
so my advice is dont follow your friends and find a band you like on your own and my guess is that mcr isn't going to be that band.

Yes they are bad in a sence! No only some of the songs have what you mentioned at the top.

darling... search "my chemical romance lyrics" and you'll find outif it is "bad" music, try the yahoo search at the top of the page. or any other page such as google or whatever..
