No, pacifiers have been developed by dentists...much better to use than fingers and fists.

it's not good to let babies suck pacifiers a long time it should stop when you notice their teeth are growing in. if not it will buck their teeth then long after that the gap will appear then braces. you could prevent all of this.

Mine sucked pacifiers until age one. Both have exceptional teeth at the age of 9 and 12. Dont let anyone tell you not to give them pacifiers, thats rediculous. It also saves alot of crying. I often tell myself when i see stressed out mothers in public who has a screaming child, all she needs is a darn pacifier.

Not specifically a gap, but sucking on a pacifeir does make a child's teeth grow in irregular in most cases. As long as they stop sucking it at an early age then their shouldn't be a problem but too long definatly will affect the teeth.

sucking on fingers will do the same thing, only worse and their fingers will often grow crooked, too. I have noticed, though, that pacifiers are becoming better shaped for an infants' mouth (Playtex Ortho-Pro, for example) to prevent this problem. Therefore, I personally, would rather have my daughter suck on a pacifier. (Go figure she prefers her thumb, lol) :)

i dont think a gap, but like, have them pushed out a little foward... it might not do it at all, if they dont suck them alot, but it is bad for kids to have pacifiers too often
