I just had this problem. You can only transfer purchased music to your new laptop, you're going to have to redownload everything else. You'll have to authorize your ipod on your new laptop. It's pretty simple and they prompt you through it in itunes. Sorry buddy. You can always backup your music on cds and then just download those cds onto the new laptop.

What you have to do is have an plug that came with your ipod that you download and upgrade your songs. Then you just have to plug it in to the laptop! But first you have to have itunes!
