The answer is a simple one. Abortion protesters don't protest animal deaths because animal deaths don't get Jesus points. Apparently you have to have so many Jesus points to get into Heaven, and protesting abortions is worth a lot of points.
If the current administration is really into Jesus (as ours is now), Jesus gives the administration bonus points to hand out as it sees fit. Abortion is a hot political issue right now, so the administration gives out its allotment of bonus points to people who agree with its view on abortion, and right now, that's the protesters. Animal rights isn't something the current administration is concerned with, so no one protests for that cause. When the White House gets a memo from Jesus telling them that animal rights are now approved for receiving bonus points, more abortion protesters will show up to poaching rallies.

There is no more selfish of an act than killing a baby that you created so that you can keep living your selfish lifestyle. Your right, we don't need to keep adding humans to this world, we need to teach the humans on this planet to have more self control. That means we respect life, including human life. Peace begins in the womb. The scars created by abortion go far beyond the woman who suffers silently, the child who is killed, the scars go into our society and poison everyone, including children. Abortion is a statement that a lesser being has no choice. That is so for animals as well, if you claim that we can't figure out how to solve the problems of the people we have now, how will abortion improve those problems???
Just because you chose to adopt does not mean that is best for everyone. You talk about imposing lifestyles, how can you impose yours on others? What we need are consistent policies that are good for everyone, policies that allow people and animals to live freely. Policies that also require people to be responsible for their actions rather than saying that they will have sex anyway, just get rid of the consequences. That goes against nature.
Animals are innocent, but that is because they only live by instict, and they are not intelligent enough to use strategy. That is why we are at the top of the food chain. We should respect animals, but people are animals also, and that means we should teach people a consistent respect for ALL life. This means you don't step on ants for fun, or tie a dog to a chain in the backyard, or waste food at the dinner table, or have sex when you can't take care of a baby.

You must not personally know many pro-lifers, because all of the ones I know ARE involved in helping the poor and many, including myself, are very concerned with the plight of animals as well. I am just as passionate about animal abuse as I am about the killing of innocent human beings through abortion.
Let me ask you, who runs the majority of shelters, soup kitchens, and food pantries in America? Conservative Christians, of course. Who has been shown to give a greater portion of their income to charitable causes than liberals? Again, conservative Christians. Who almost always runs the crisis pregnancy centers which provide free maternity and baby supplies and financial, medical, legal, and housing assistance to pregnant mothers and mothers with already born children? Well, gosh, it's conservative Christians again!
Try getting free maternity and baby supplies at Planned Parenthood, and try again at a crisis pregnancy center, and then you will see who is really there to help. It's also worth noting that ALL of the services at crisis pregnancies centers are completely free of charge, while Planned Parenthood makes millions of dollars every year by exploiting the fears of pregnant women.
I personally know pro-lifers who pulled out their wallets and checkbooks to help support women who changed their mind at abortion mills. (Of course, in these cases, the abortion facility refused to refund the women's $200 deposit. They must really care, right?) I also know pro-life Christians who have adopted multiple children from Africa and sibling groups in America.
We don't solve suffering by preemptively killing people who may suffer! If that is your preferred solution, why don't we just start shooting all unwanted people? Should we kill homeless people and elderly people? After all, the world is crowded anyway, right? (And by the way--overpopulation is a myth. The problem is not that we don't have enough room and resources--we do. The problem is corrupt governments who refuse help for their people.)
There is nothing more selfish than killing an innocent human being because you don't want him or her to live. Compassion need not have limits. It's sad that you seem to have lost yours for the most innocent and defenseless among us.

Who says they don't care?
And who says they don't contribute to social programs for children?
The world has many problems to solve. It's impossible for one person to solve all of them.
I completely agree with you that animal life is important, and I think that God will hold us accountable for the way we take care of animals.
And by the way, I feel that women definitely have a right to choose whether they have a baby or not. But they exercise that right when they choose to have sex when they're not prepared for a baby. "Two wrongs don't make a right." Abortion is not appropriate as a form of birth control.
And as a father of adopted children, I would think that you would be against abortion, because your children could have potentially been aborted.

How do you know they don't care? Face it you don't know. Unless you know all the charities they give to and volunteer work they do.
Have you recently adopted 2 kids because just a few weeks ago you said you were planning to SOMEDAY adopt and that was why you wanted your girlfriend to have an abortion? So which is it?

Mainly because of Christian fundamentalist, they really rally around it as a soul being killed. I am a Christian but also I believe if done early enough it is the woman's right.
It is true they should totally be worried about Animals near extinction, they are more rare and need some attention.

animals are just that...animals...your equation of your animals to your kids is frightening...tell me if your kids get real sick and are a pain will you have them put down? There is no space problem in the world, but enviromnmental and animal rights zealots like yourself really mess up human priorities.
