After watching the Philly/Dallas game..Dont you think you should give Jeff Garcia some respect? I mean the man gave CPR to a team and fans who lost faith in a team has caused them to beleive again for this team. Not taking anythin away from the way the defense has been playing and the players in-general.

Any time a forgotten back-up steps in and salvages a team's season he deserves respect. Anyone who has the nerve to write that he is neither as smart or talented as McNabb is an certified idiot and obviously hasn't been following the NFL this season.

McNabb was 5-5 and had the Eagles OUT of the playoff picture, Garcia is 4-1 and has the Eagles leading the Division. It really doesn't matter what anyone "thinks" in professional football! It ONLY matters what actually happens on the field of play. Garcia has played better, check the win-lose column, end of story.......

Of course the Eagle defence has stepped up, of course the offensive weapons are clicking, but all that is happening because Jeff Garcia has proven to be a true team leader, not because he's some super QB (check what Andy Reid is saying).

Others are right when they say this is the "dark-horse" team of the 2006-2007 playoffs. Right now they are taking care of business as well as the Bears or Saints. There is no one in the first round picture playing as well as the Eagles. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see them in the Conference Championship this year.............

No, I'll give respect to the other 21 starters. As a Redskins fan, the best thing that can happen is the Eagles winning the Super Bowl. This will create a QB controversy and hopefully the Eagles will cut or trade McNabb in favor of Garcia. From the link below:

"The Eagles season has been a rather odd series of ups and downs. They played great football early in the year but lost several heartbreaking games. A mid-season swoon followed during which McNabb was injured and the run defense collapsed. A second disappointing season seemed in the offing. Now, after three consecutive road wins, the Eagles are back in the playoffs for the sixth time in seven years.

"As always, a four-game win streak leads to enormous credit being given to a team’s quarterback. Jeff Garcia has played well since coming in for McNabb. The key is not that Garcia is not McNabb. The key is that Garcia is not Mike McMahon. He is able to make plays in an offense filled with talented players, none moreso than the standout Brian Westbrook. The Eagles under Andy Reid have always been a pass-first team. In a way, however, they are sort of a reverse Pittsburgh Steelers. On a per play basis, they are generally a more effective team running the ball...

"For Philadelphia, they have as much talent on the roster as any team in the NFC. In fact, were McNabb still healthy, they would arguably be the best team in the conference at this point. Garcia is a solid player, but he is not their salvation. He has not played as well as McNabb this season, is not as talented as McNabb, and is not as smart a quarterback as McNabb. For two consecutive weeks, he has thrown ill-timed interceptions. Still, he is certainly good enough to win with all the surrounding talent. If the Eagles are able to lean on Westbrook and Buckhalter, Garcia provides enough to help them win any game."

Jeff Garcia has been the man. Now I am a Jet fan. But I can't say enough about this guy. Who would thought that he would just step in and play like that.

Jeff Garcia deserves respect, but his supporting cast has a lot to do with his success, too. He couldn't do anything when he was with the Lions, except gain 5 yards on a broken play. Same thing when he was with Cleveland. It's no mistake he went to 3 pro bowls throwing to Terrell Owens and Jerry Rice when he was w/ the 49ers. Now he's got weapons with the Eagles, too. But with no talent around him, he's just another mediocre QB.
But it does take something special to come in as a backup, when nobody believes in you, and beat 3 straight divisional opponents to get a playoff berth (have they clinched yet?). So he deserves some credit and respect, but he's not the only one.

actually i thought he deserved respect way before beating the cowgirls, i'm not an eagles fan by any means but i've been saying for the past 3 weeks that they are my sleeper team in the nfc, no ones gonna see it coming but they can do some damage this year.........they'll make it pretty far into the playoffs and at least knock some other teams out (like the cowboys and maybe saints )

I hate to admit it but when McNabb went out I was like season over.....
Garcia has come in and has been leading this team to play like they should have been playing. We have the talent and as you all can see we are kicking a** s and taking numbers!!!!!
