I'm a Phillies fan, but looking at the bats, I give the advantage to the Mets this coming season. The Phillies didn't get anyone to protect Ryan Howard in the lineup, so we're stuck with Pat Burrell and his strikeout totals.

The Phillies added some interesting pitchers to the mix. I think the margin will be a LOT closer than last year, when the Mets ran away with the division.

the Mets have a better offense, the Phillies a better pitching, with an average offense.
Howard can carry the team alone, but with Utley and Burrell in the mix, the team is above average. and their starters are not spectacular, but are better than the Mets have. Unless they sign Zito. Pedro is almost gone the season, Glavine is... old. Oliver is gone, Perez is as bad as Mesa.

The Mets have young, talented players who are getting to their prime (and they're already putting up good numbers), bunch of veterans who make good role models for the young players, a cool, strong-willed manager who successfully managed the team through myriads of injuries and health issues. So I guess you could tell by now that I LOVE the Mets. Go Mets!!!

Mets!! I think that's a pretty dumb question. Who put up the .599% this year topping the Major league tied with the team across town. They got pitching, batting and a bunch of young stars that are puting up great numbers. Mets all the way (i'm a Yankee, not Mets fan.)

I don't know what u mean if its by favorite then the mets if its who's the better team it is also the mets with good pitching and a soild batting lineup. The philles r good but they need proper pitching , but the answer is not to go out and trade for 8 average relivers and go out and trade all of them for one reeally good 1.

Neither, but if I had to choose, I'd say Phillies, if only for the fact that Ryan Howard is a St. Louis native.
